    Big vote for the boost enhancer - you really do fit it yourself in under 10 minutes and the difference is huge. I found it even better turned up just one turn, it seems to make the boost evene smoother and hold max boost for longer without rolling off. Pete Cros posts months.

    The boost enhancer does NOT increase power, which was the original question. Th boost enhancer may not increase actaul maximum power, though I think it would do if you had a pretty tired wastegate qhixch many of these cars now have. However it definately improvs access to power, which has a huge impact on how the car drives. Mine is an 86 car which was chipped and remapped at AMD and had the wastegate reshimmed at the same time.

    Your car may not acheive the sales pitch power claims. But, how can you tell. As most of us have done. Put your car on a certified rolling road. This will show the current power, adjusted for height above sea level, atmospheric condition on the day, etc. Have the power upgrade what ever you are buying installed. You now have a set of before and after power plots. This is the only way that you can tell what YOUR car's power is. The BE masks the effect of a cream crackered wastegate.

    In this country re-mapping is the best way to go. BHP is not the target. A smooth power delivery with a good torque figure is the aim. Just cranking up the boost will not achieve this. Or- just buy my car. Real gains cheap price. Worth adding an aftermarket Boost guage before fitting. Funnily enough when I had mine dyno'd a fortnight ago I was there with a Turbo owner and we did a before and after run with a boost enhancer.
