Its a giant wagon on stilts, its not going to handle like a sports car, it will handle better than an SUV. The real test came at the beach exit at Point Lookout, which was long, steep, and with very deep soft sand and ruts. Quite a stretch to be milking 29 out of that. But after seeing this review I went to the local Subie dealer and finagled a drive in an Outback 3. As I said in my first comment, Subaru is as good as dead to me.

Love the New Outback. Although I have looked at Subarus before, they weren't quite big enough for everything we needed to haul for our boat. That all changed with the new, redesigned Outback. More cargo space than my 04 CRV, better quality interior and more amenities. It also gets much better mileage than I thought it would, almost 26 mpg combined! And the ride is quiet, smooth and comfortable.

It just feels like a well engineered car. The only thing that takes time to get used to is the sound of the CVT Your feedback has been sent to Cars. This is our 5th Subaru and 3rd Outback model. The is bigger than previous models primary reason we traded , but the it still maintains all the fabulous traits we've come to expect from Subaru.

Our model is the 4 cyl with CVT and currently owned it about 3 months. Have driven it over miles so far. Love the roomyness, utility, mileage avg 27 - 30 , handling, quality and other features. Especially like the creature comforts, namely the sound system, heated seats, puddel lights and bluetooth cell features. No other vehicles made can surpass Subaru's AWD system, period!

I understand a small percentage of Outbacks were delivered with a starting problem ours included , but Subaru engineers quickly solved it with a computer software fix. Once Subaru was made aware of the problem, their engineers developed a timely fix. Ours now starts fine and works great! I highly recommend the company Subaru and it's Outback model to anyone. We wouldn't own anything else! Good for the value. We recently purchased our first Subaru Outback Wagon. We are very pleased. Mileage was estimated at 30 mpg highway.

Yesterday our car registered 36 mpg. The four cylinder is quick enough, spacious, sturdy, and fun to drive. Stereo isn't great 3 stars , but good enough. One quirk -- it is so air tight, the incoming air hurts the drivers ears when a back window is open on the highway. Also, at night when low beams are on, there is a shadowy veil across the top part of the windshield. I knew this car would last. It has the 4 cylinder HP engine and auto transmission.

It is the basic Outback with the winter package. My wife wanted electric seat adjustment so it comes in the winter package. It gets great mileage for such a large car, 25 to 30 MPG so far. The ride is great as I don't like a harsh ride like my sisters Honda. It is also a great looking car. Has lots of standard features. Too many plusses to list but here are a few: Versatile for hauling yard stuff, camping and kayak gear, long distance traveling.

Good gas mileage for a car its size. Love showing the convertible roofrack to friends. Can carry four kayaks and then fold back into place to improve gas mileage. Many places to stow items, Great legroom. Love the paddle shifters with the automatic transmission. We have purchased the SubRu Outback in April We chose the 4cyl version. I was a bit skeptical of the performance having tried other 4cyl models before.

To this day I am still impressed of it's capacity in all conditions whether driving in hot temperature in the summer or very cold and snowy conditions of the Quebec area, this engine is working very well in collaboration with the cvt transmission.

It saved my life! We bought our car on July 25th. We drive it close to 80 miles a day. The heated seats are great, it is outdoorsy and sporty. However, it was totaled last weekend when someone ran a red light.
