Code P Hello, I Recently Removed My P Code with the Help

In August , the ninth-generation Corolla was introduced in Japan, with edgier styling and more technology to bring the nameplate into the 21st century. Can someone who has a resolution or know what was performed to resolve the issue please reply to this forum besides getting rid of the car - that's not an option for me? The solution to my issue was that the transmission fluid was never replaced since it was purchased new.

The trans has K miles on it and now is running like the first day I bought her. I took a low cost chance, changed the trans oil with a friend per the instructions on here http: All instructions were followed to the 'T' and everything went perfect.

The engine code was gone the moment the engine was turned on and has stayed off since I last reported my rant. Please be cautious about where you take your car and the BS scum bag "mechanics" will feed you to only drain your wallet. Best of luck and I hope this vote of confidence will help the next person out there!

It has about K miles. She says she might of done a transmission fluid change a few years ago but isn't sure. I'm gonna go ahead and replace the fluid and filter and see what happens. I do notice a slight tug right around 30MPH or so, but only intermittently. Will keep you all posted. To asorbrainis, not all mechanics are bs scumbags.

I took offense to your ignorant remarks. I pride myself on honesty and accuracy. Think before you type. Same problem without the code. I serviced the trans and now all is well. I've always heard if your transmission makes it that far don't replace the transmission fluid and less you absolutely have to. And of course again I'm going to repeat I have always heard. I've always heard that it stirs the metal shavings up that have been encapsulated in sludge at bottom of pan.

I hate to break it to you but that is false. There is a magnetic tip on the end of the drain plug for transmissions that collect the shavings so they don't skrew up your tranny. Same happened to mine. All I did was change the transmission fluid because it needed it. The light might stay on for a few days like it did on mine then it went away. I decided to change the fluid despite the mechanics saying it's probably something else. So do your search about the codes first guys.

Just had the same issue on a Toyota Matrix. Trans fluid is fine.. Both times it came on was on a 2hr drive. Possible it had to do with overheating from the long drive?

Both times it came on was after I got gas too.. Does the ECU recall have anything to do with this? I don't think I ever got it fixed as part of the recall if my car even is applicable to the recall.. The little solenoid is expensive from Toyota and may not cure the problem.

Instead we replace the valve body complete with solenoids used from a low mileage transmission and have excellent results mostly. The problem is in the list circuit.
